In 2008, we expanded our international arm when HotelBenchmark, a division of Deloitte UK, and The Bench, a daily benchmarking company, combined to form STR Global Limited. Later that year, we launched Hotel News Now (HNN), a digital media platform based in Rocky River, Ohio.
In 2014, we launched a Sector Analysis division to expand our benchmarking platform to other industries. Later that year, we announced our newest segment, the health club sector, through a strategic partnership with the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA). In 2015, we continued our vertical expansion by entering the self-storage industry, targeting U.S. operators, developers and service providers to track performance, supply, and new development data.
In 2016, we united our entities under one worldwide brand: STR.
In the same year, we purchased LJ Research, a full-service tourism market research company based out of Edinburgh, Scotland. They are now the Tourism Consumer Insights team of STR.
Also in 2016, we acquired AM PM.
